This test feels impossible. I don't think I can do it.
Being brave was never about David not being afraid — it was about who he remembered was standing with him. The same is true for you, today, walking into whatever's waiting on the other side of that door.
The conversation
The child: “Daddy God, this test feels impossible. I don't think I can do it.”
God: “You know, there was a boy who once faced something a lot bigger than a test.”
The child: “Bigger than this?”
God: “Much bigger. A giant, actually.”
God: “David was small, and Goliath was a giant everyone else was too afraid to face.”
The child: “What did David do?”
God: “He didn't pretend he wasn't scared. He just remembered who was with him.”
The child: “So I don't have to not be scared?”
God: “No. You just don't have to face it alone.”
God: “Go on. I'm not going anywhere.”
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10, KJV
